Kat’s Internship Experience

So this blog is a bit different than the rest.  How?  I didn’t write it.  Kat, a photography major at Troy University in Troy, Alabama, joined us for her summer intership this summer.  I wanted to give her the opportunity to tell you about her time with us.

It’s Kat again! The "Summer of Bugs" is almost over. Fortunately for me, I didn’t encounter too many more spiders after that first week. Unfortunately for Jeff, he’s still a mosquito magnet. No, really. I discovered this on a photo shoot with Kyle Robinson only a few weeks ago! We did go on a few woody excursions where we encountered large amounts of poison ivy-one of these with soon-to-be-married Brittany and Craig. Luckily, all of us escaped without needing any of the poison ivy remedy cream that had so thoughtfully been put in my survival kit!

I shot two beautiful weddings this summer (Congratulations and thank you again to newlyweds Heather and Pat and Brittany and Craig!). At both weddings, I experienced first hand the "Black Thumb" condition-my thumb turned black from holding the camera so much! I hope that serves as proof of all my hard work. I should have photographed them to submit to my professor as proof of my internship!

I have to say that I’ve had lots of fun during my internship at Black Thumb Studio this summer (oh, and there was learning involved too; don’t worry!). Thank you Jeff, George, and Alana. Have fun at the rest of your weddings this year and stuff yourselves with all the Liberty Pizza you possibly can. (You’ll have to ask them about that one!)

Oh, and remind Jeff to buy Reese’s peanut butter cups; he’s probably out. Again.

Kat – thank you for being with us this summer!  We truly enjoyed having you as a part of our team!

To our readers – If you know someone who is a photography major in college and is looking for an intership, send me an email or give me a call.  Contact info is here.  We’re currently recruiting for another intern!

All the images in this blog were taken by Kat.  Great job Kat!
