Carleton’s Senior Portrait Experience

We recently had the opportunity to work with Carleton for his last-minute senior portrait session. He was just a few days away from his yearbook deadline, but we were able to help him out and get the job done.

We shot with Carleton at Sachem Rock Farm in East Bridgewater as well as our favorite abandoned factory. Carleton’s mom Diane came along to watch the action. I asked Carleton to bring any props he may have that represented him. Turns out that he is a video game fanatic. He enjoyed "Guitar Hero" so much he went out a bought an electric guitar and is teaching himself how to play. He brought the guitar along for the session and we’re SO glad he did. We could tell as soon as he put it into his hands, he relaxed.

Once we got some shots at the farm, we headed to the abandoned factory. Neither Carleton or his mom could believe the place. We told them we call it our "studio" because we shoot there so much. On the ride over, I got it stuck in my head that we should try and get a picture of Carleton in mid-air with his guitar. We set about finding the right spot and jumping platform. After a few tries, we finally got it right and snapped a couple of really fun shots.

Carleton’s mom Diane said to me and George at one point, "I had NO idea what you guys were going to do with Carleton! I was expecting to walk into a room, have him sit in a chair and smile for a few picture." George quickly responded, "We don’t do that." She laughed.

Carleton – thanks for coming out and being a blast to work with! We hope your year book picture stands out from the crowd! Good luck with the rest of the school year!

Without a doubt, my favorite shot from Carleton’s session and one of my all-time favs.  LOVE it!  And huge credit to Alana for the editing on this one!
