Heather & Kevin’s Wedding

Yes, it has been a loooong time since there has been a new blog on this site.  To say the least, the last three and a half months have been exceptional in many ways.  There are SO many stories to tell!  And there’s no better story to restart the blog with than Heather and Kevin’s wedding.

I don’t generally remember the weather on a specific date (I mean, I don’t even remember what I had for lunch yesterday), but I’ll never forget the weather on December 26, 2010.  The blizzard that was blowing through that day put the City of Boston – and most surrounding cities and towns – in a state of emergency.  It was one of those days that I was thankful for my Tacoma and its ability to get me where I need to be no matter the weather.

I’ll never forget Heather and Kevin’s wedding either.  It was one of those moments in time that seems too magical to be real.  The entire City of Boston was blanketed in snow and there was no sign of it stopping anytime soon.

The ceremony and reception were held at the historic Hampshire House – just across from the Boston Public Gardens.  I dropped off Alana and the truck at the venue and walked down the street to the Taj where Heather was getting ready.

Heather’s room was bustling as expected.  Alyssa Vachon was hard at work with hair and makeup.  Heather was calling the front desk arranging for cabs.  I got to work with the dress.  Once Heather was ready, we snapped a few bridal portraits inside the hotel before Heather put the dress back in the bag for the cab ride to Hampshire House.

Kevin and the guys were hanging out in the Cheers bar.  We snuck Heather up to the bridal room to await the start of the ceremony.  The guests were beginning to arrive – most in cabs from the hotel.

The ceremony was held in the second floor library room.  It’s one of my favorite rooms in Boston.  With the addition of the Christmas decorations and the falling snow outside, the room itself couldn’t have been more beautiful.  The perfect setting for a winter wedding ceremony.

A time of cocktails, amazing hors d’oeurves, and an intimate dinner filled the remainder of the evening.  The guests mingled, watched the snow fall and enjoyed the magic of the evening.

The highlight of the night for me was toward the end of the evening when Heather and Kevin agreed (very bravely!) to step out into the blizzard for a quick photo.  The result – one of our best photos ever.

Heather and Kevin – wishing you continued love, happiness and success as you share the rest of your lives together.  Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your memorable wedding day.
