Jenny & Charles’ Wedding

I know I’ve said it before, but I truly love meeting as many people as I do.  I occasionally meet people that make such an impact on me that I’ll never forget them.  Ever.  Take, for instance, Jenny and Charles.

I first met Jenny and Charles at Au Bon Pain in Harvard Square.  I realized after I walked in that I had waved at the wrong couple through the window.  Oops.  As soon as I walked in, I recognized my mistake and Jenny and Charles.  Both sharply dressed and ready to go.  That’s their M.O.  Love it!

We shot their engagement session around their alma mater – Harvard.  They gave me a mini-tour of the campus and told me about the places they used to live and work.  How they met working in the IT group together.  And they laughed – mostly at each other – the whole time.  I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much!

The day of their wedding was no different.  We met up with Jenny and Charles at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston.  Jenny was more than ready for her wedding day.  She was smiling from ear to ear and let out that girlish squeal of excitement every time another friend walked into the room where she was getting ready.  Charles wasn’t quite as loud, but was dressed like a GQ ad and ready for the wedding.

We had the opportunity to photograph both Jenny and Charles individually before the ceremony.  With a backdrop of Trinity Church, the Boston Public Library, and the rest of Copley Square at our disposal, our options were endless.  Jenny looked amazing in her wedding dress and

The ceremony was held in the chapel of Old South Church on the corner of Copley Square.  I’ll never forget the beautiful sound of Charles’ sister’s voice echoing off the stone as she sang Ave Maria during the ceremony.  It sent chills down my spine.

We did our best to take pictures in every corner of Copley Square after the ceremony.  Sean Cusick, the videographer joined us for our adventures and laughed right along with us.  After almost getting arrested for taking pictures outside Trinity Church (well, not really), we finished the formals with an ice cream cone from the ice cream truck.  A bride and groom eating ice cream together is always a fun shot.  Jenny kept saying, “Just make sure it doesn’t drip on my dress Charles!”

One of the highlights of the reception was when Jenny and Charles snuck out of the room and did a quick wardrobe change and danced a two-step to the surprise of their guests.  It was perfect.

Jenny and Charles – I can’t thank you enough for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day.   I wish youmany years of laughter and love!
