Meredith & David’s Wedding

George and I arrived atthe Ridge Club in Sandwich, MA around 3 p.m. Amanda and the rest of the staff were busy preparing for the evening’s festivities. George and I wasted no time surveying the area, making final plans for formal photo locations and digging into details photos. We didn’t want to miss any little part of Meredith and David’s wedding.

David and his family were the first to arrive. The guys looked incredibly dapper in their tan suits and orange ties. George went off with them while I awaited Meredith’s arrival. She soon pulled up in a limo and was quickly ushered inside the clubhouse. Final preparations were made in the ladies locker room and then we went back upstairs for a few formal photos. Soon after, the ceremony began.

The Ridge Club has a beautiful patio area behind their club house with a tent set up for wedding ceremonies. David and his brothers stood at the front of the tent awaiting Meredith’s arrival. She entered the tent arm in arm with her father. David fought back the tears as Meredith approached.

Immediately following the ceremony, we did an "everyone" photo at the edge of the golf course. This was followed by some more formals in the same location. We then had some fun with just the wedding party on the green. The slightly overcast sky helped diffuse the sunlight just enough.

Once we finished the group photos, the four of us hopped into two awaiting golf carts and drove down the road to the 5th green where a frog pond lay in wait. A family of geese was a bit anxious about our arrival, but we finally convinced them that they were not on our menu that evening. The pond provided us with a beautiful location for formals of Meredith and David, including some wonderful reflections. The drive back to the clubhouse included some pretty silly antics with Meredith and David in their golf cart. They were really hamming it up! George shot while I drove. We love having opportunities like this with just the bride and groom!

The reception began shortly after we returned. DJ Peter played the bride and groom into the room as their family and friends cheered and clapped. They celebrated with their first dance as husband and wife. The natural light in the room was amazing; George and I took full advantage.

A little later, Meredith and David cut their cupcake and then David was presented with his groom’s cake, which was a sandwich (his favorite food) made from yellow cake, brownies and fruit roll-ups. When he saw it, the first thing he said was, "Is it edible?!" After he was assured it was, he took a bit and was clearly surprised at how good his "sandwich" tasted.

I don’t know exactly what it is about nurses, but I think there is something in their blood that makes them some of the best partiers around. Meredith is a nurse and a whole bunch of her coworkers (all nurses as well) were there at the wedding. The whole group was dancing like crazy all night long. There was no shortage of photos to take throughout the evening and DJ Peter kept the hits rolling. Austin, the ring bearer and David’s nephew, took on the role of "kid photographer" and snapped all kinds of funny pictures with the camera we gave him. He had a blast! Thanks Austin!

Meredith and David – George and I wish you both many happy years of eating sandwiches together. We truly enjoyed being with you and your families on your beautiful wedding day. Thanks for the opportunity!
