Liz & Bruce’s Wedding

You may remember Liz and Brucefrom their engagement session early this past Spring. It was a pretty darn chilly evening, but they braved the cold and we were able to get some great photos on a piece of property where they would soon lay the foundation for their future home.

As of now, the house is up and "weather sealed" and almost ready for move-in day. I know Liz and Bruce can’t wait to be in their new place together. The only thing that they couldn’t wait for more was their wedding day in late September. I wonder if Bruce wishes Liz still had the wedding to distract her. Nah….

George and I arrived at Blissful Meadows Golf Club in Uxbridge, MA on an amazing fall afternoon. In my book, the weather was perfect. We soon found Bruce and the guys hanging out on the back deck overlooking the lawn and gazebo where the ceremony would take place. Bruce was smiling from ear to ear and couldn’t wait to get started. He was ready.

Liz and the ladies arrived soon after. Following a quick touch-up, everyone was ready to start. The gentlemen took their place in front of the gazebo. The ladies filed in. Liz was escorted by her two handsome sons. She was glowing.

A festive tradition that Liz and Bruce chose to include in their ceremony was the presentation of a wine box. Encasing two bottles of wine and letters that Liz and Bruce wrote to each other, the box is to be reopened on their 25th wedding anniversary.

We chose a shady spot right next to the gazebo for the formal pictures. A red barn in the background provided a great sense of New England tradition. After we finished the group photos, we explored the property around the clubhouse with just Liz and Bruce, snapping away the whole time.

The Chestnut room was elegantly decorated with a rustic theme. The guests were eagerly anticipating the bride and groom’s arrival. DJ Alfred Travieso was the MC for the evening’s festivities. The evening started with the wedding party dancing through the tables, each lady donning a feather boa around her neck as she was introduced. It was quite a sight and definitely set the tone for the party for the rest of the night. What was the tone you may ask? FUN!

At one point during the evening, we snuck Liz and Bruce outside for a quick twilight shot. We took it right in front of the clubhouse as the sky turned a deep shade of blue. Perfect timing!

The rest of the evening, we spent observing s much as possible and taking candids whenever we had the opportunity. DJ Alfred kept the tunes rolling and dance lights spinning until it was time to retire for the evening. Liz and Bruce took every opportunity they could to get on the dance floor and party, boas and all.

Congratulations to Liz and Bruce. May you spend many cozy nights together in front of your fireplace in your soon-to-be new home. Thanks for giving George and I the opportunity to celebrate with you and save as many memories as possible.

P.S. – If you’re ever in the northwest corner of Rhode Island and want to visit a wonderful store, drop in and say hi to Liz at Brown and Hopkins Country Store in Chepachet. Liz is the owner of this charming shop and proud to carry on the tradition of "America’s oldest country store in continuous operation."

If I had a style for a "signature shot", I would say this would be it.
