Kim & John’s Wedding

There are many things for which New England is known.  When it comes to photography, red barns, old mills, country churches with white steeples, historic inns and quaint ponds are some of the standards.  What if there was one place where you could find them all within walking distance?  Well there is – the Wayside Inn in Sudbury.  It was this wonderfully photographic venue that Kim and John chose for their wedding.

Kim and John met as coworkers.  This allowed them to build a friendship for a while before their relationship became anything else.  They both agreed that their friendship was the best foundation for a more personal relationship.

We were excited that Kim and John chose to see each other prior to the ceremony in order to take advantage of their beautiful surroundings.  John awaited Kim’s arrival by the grist mill.  I’ll never forget how giggly Kim and her sister were when they arrived.  Smiling ear to ear, Kim walked down the gravel path toward John.  She tapped him on the shoulder.  He turned.  He couldn’t contain his joy when he saw his wife-to-be.
We spent the next hour and a half photographing Kim, John and their wedding party at various locations on the property before their ceremony. To say we had a blast would be an understatement!

John headed off to the church and Kim waited at the inn with her dad to be picked up in the horse and carriage.  The guests stood outside the back of the church to see the horse and carriage and catch a glimpse of Kim before they took their seats.

The ceremony was simple and beautiful.  Sunlight streamed in the western-facing windows casting a warm glow throughout the sanctuary.  Guests looked on in admiration as Kim and John exchanged vows and committed themselves to each other.

There are few people I’ve encountered in my life who have had to face the challenges that John has faced in his life and overcome.  His personal journey is a powerful and inspiring story.  John – you are a remarkable guy and you’re marrying a remarkable woman.  I wish you and Kim many, many years of true happiness and joy.  Thanks for allowing us to share in your wedding day!
