I’ll never forget the expression on Lindsay’s dad’s face as she helped him get ready in the hotel room. She was in her wedding dress – he in his tux. She was putting his boutonniere on his lapel. And he was simply looking at her with that expression. It was the expression that said, “I can’t believe it is your wedding day already. I feel like it was just yesterday that you were three years old and bouncing on my knee. I’m so proud of you. I love you.” It brings me to tears just thinking of that moment.
Lindsay prepped at the modern Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge, MA. The décor is a photographer’s dream. And having a lovely group of bridesmaids to shoot in the setting made for a Vogue-esque photo shoot. They killed it.
Mike prepped at a buddy’s house. It was a true bachelor pad with a pool table right in the middle of the room as you walked through the door. George photographed them in the streets of Cambridge once they were ready. He kept the camera going as plans changed and they all squeezed into cabs to get to the church.
Lindsay and Mike had their ceremony this spring on the campus of Boston College. Mike struggled to hold back the tears as Lindsay and her dad walked down the aisle. The light in the chapel was beautiful. Filtered by the stained glass, it cast a beautiful soft light.
A mansion next to the church was the perfect background for photos with the wedding party. After that, we headed to another part of the BC campus for some additional photos of just Lindsay and Mike. The gorgeous stonework of the buildings made me feel like we were shooting in Europe. Loved it!
The reception was back at the Hotel Marlowe. The guests were enjoying cocktail hour when we arrived. DJ Charles Bernard was prepped and ready to rock in the ballroom. It didn’t take long to gather everyone and get the party started. And once it started, it didn’t stop. Mike pulled out his sweet dance moves. And Lindsay had no problem keeping up…
